Certificate in Meditation and Psychotherapy
72 Continuing Education Hours (60 SW, N) will be granted to those attending the Certificate in Meditation and Psychotherapy course. This program is suitable for experienced clinicians as well as beginning, intermediate and experienced meditation practitioners.
Learning Objectives for the Full Program:
• At the end of this program, participants will be able to describe mindfulness in its original context of a path of liberation from suffering.
• At the end of the program, participants will be able to describe and apply current research pertinent to the integration of mindfulness, meditation, and psychotherapy.
• At the end of this program, participants will be able to integrate mindfulness into their clinical practice settings, with their clinical populations.
• In addition, each session has its own learning objectives.
Psychologists: The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This course offers 72 hours of credit.
Licensed Mental Health Counselors: The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6048. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy is solely is responsible for all aspects of the program. This program is approved for 72 clock hours. It is also applicable for MaMHCA/MMCEP hours for re-licensure, in accordance with 262 CMR.
Social Workers: This program has been approved for 60 Social Work Continuing Education hours for relicensure, in accordance with 258 CMR. Collaborative of NASW and the Boston College and Simmons Schools of Social Work Authorization Number D 71127.
Nurses: This course meets the specifications of the Board of Registration in Nursing (244 CMR) for 60 Contact Hours.
