An Invitation from Chris Germer
I’d like to share a special opportunity for the clinical mindfulness and compassion community in the Boston area to get together and be inspired by Susan Gitau, PhD from Kenya, Africa.
I first met Susan in Nairobi at a Mindful Self-Compassion Intensive training in 2018, after which she also became a Trained Mindful Self-Compassion teacher and a dear friend.
Susan is a counseling psychologist with over 20 years of experience in mental health, trauma counseling, and community development across Africa. Her non-profit foundation provides care to vulnerable women in the Kiandatu slums (where Susan was also raised), the Kenyan military, trauma survivors in Rwanda, and other underserved groups.
