Internship Opportunity

We are currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for a research internship position at the Center for Addiction Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry. The Center is funded to conduct a randomized controlled clinical trial comparing two intensive behavioral treatments for smoking cessation. As part of this study we are assessing the effects of mindfulness and meditation practice on impulsivity and inhibitory control. Interns will learn important research skills, including unique opportunities for exposure to group therapy research methods, behavioral treatments for addictive disorders, computerized psychological experimentation protocols, and fMRI neuroimaging methods. Previous research interns have had the opportunity to participate in co-authoring peer-review journal articles and preparing poster presentations for national conferences.
